I haven't posted in forever. It's been busy!
Mihret is 14 today. He's on the soccer team and the honor roll. He's amazing. We are so blessed. Dear Tsion is 10. She's doing SO WELL in school, and she's a soccer superstar. She's scored three goals in four games. A mother of another player on her team wanted to know if she is on a special diet, since Tsion is so strong. That made me laugh. The smart aleck in me wanted to reply, "Raw eggs, protein shakes, and low-dose steroids." I didn't say that, though.
The kids have been home since September 13, and baby Ezra Tsegaye is due June 22.
We are so blessed to be the parents of Mihret and Tsion. We look forward to meeting Ezra, and I look forward to being not pregnant.

Change in Plans...........:)
I haven't updated in FOREVER. Shame on me! We had initially planned to adopt young siblings. We worried about the chid care costs for two infants or toddlers and changed our request last fall to one child up to 18 months. Time went by, and I kept thinking of the older waiting children. During the wait I ordered three waiting child videos. The third video arrived May 19. I watched again, feeling compassion for the waiting children. I was almost through watching the tape when I found our children. Yep. There they were. The last two children interviewed on the third waiting child video. It sounds crazy, but I knew they were ours.
I had Kevin watch the video and the interview with Tsion and Meheret. He was really interested, too. In fact, he called AAI right then and asked for their files. The social worker suggested that we wait for a baby, but we wanted to know more about THESE TWO children. We just knew.
After reviewing their records, we felt strongly that we were meant to parent these children. On May 23 we officially decided that Tsion and Meheret were to be our children. Fast forward.... July 28 we passed court on the FIRST try! We are traveling September 7-13 to meet our children and bring them home.
I'll post pictures of the kids' rooms, as the nursery has been converted into Tsion's room. The room formerly known as our office is now Meheret's. We feel like the wait and the worry were all part of the road to Tsion and Meheret. We are blessed!

Post office...check....credit union...check
Kevin and I completed the packet of papers we received from AAI (got the packet Saturday afternoon, finished the paperwork Saturday night) , and I mailed the paperwork and the agency fee today. I think we'll get our dossier packet next week, which is exciting. This will seem more REAL once our official documents are in Ethiopia.
I'll write more when there's something to report.
